Thank you to everyone who showed up at the polls last night to show their support of the Library and its future building plans. This was the second time the Library got on the ballot to propose a 1-mil property tax (20 years) for the expansion and renovation of our existing Carnegie library. The vote on August 7th was 820 YES and 891 NO for the new building, but this time almost 3 times as many voters took to the polls and passed the resolution 2339 YES to 2112 NO.
Check back with our blog periodically for planning and construction updates. Currently ground-breaking is expected by late summer 2019, with the expansion from 7200 sq.ft. to 15,000 sq.ft around fall of 2020.
